The Legacy Sport Club secures funding through RMOW's Community Enrichment Grant.

The Legacy Sport Club, under the umbrella of Whistler Sport Legacies, secured its largest grant funding this year through RMOW's Community Enrichment Grant.

"We are pleased to advise that Council has approved a Community Enrichment Program (CEP) Grant for the Active After School Club program in the total amount of $10,000.00", stated the Corporate Officer/Manager Legislative Services.

The funding was allocated to support an affordable after-school club initiative, hire an art instructor for WSL's Art/Multi-Sport Summer Camp, and create program spaces for families requiring activities for their children.

By reserving spots for families facing registration challenges, this program provided an opportunity for children in the community to engage in sports and activities they might not have otherwise experienced.

The array of activities offered includes athletics, field hockey, rugby, wheelchair basketball, volleyball, pickleball, freestyle skiing at Whistler water ramps, and exposure to various art styles using a diverse range of art supplies. Certified coaches and trained leaders delivered these programs, fostering a welcoming environment where participants were encouraged to explore new interests, build self-confidence, and forge connections with friends.

The financial support from RMOW proved essential for sustaining WSL's youth programs, covering expenses for certified coaches, trained physical literacy leaders, and a diverse range of sports and physical activity equipment.

Whistler Sport Legacies upholds a reputation for providing inclusive, safe, and positive sports learning environments.
